Saturday Nights 7:00pm to 11:00pm
Growing up in the Northeast, born at Horton Hospital, with family in Middletown and throughout the Hudson Valley, Joe spent many summers in Middletown when he was a kid and grew up with a LOVE of radio from a very young age.
Listening to popular stations like WABC and WPLJ in New York, Joe worked his way up, practicing his craft and developing a RAZOR-SHARP knowledge of ‘80s and ‘90s hits along the way. That ENCYCLOPEDIA – or WIKIPEDIA for today’s terms – living inside his head is why we refer to Joe as “The Professor of Pop.”
While working at the legendary WBMX in Boston, Joe developed “Back to the ‘80s Saturday Night” locally, which transformed into the syndicated version of “Retro Pop Reunion,” proudly celebrating 25 years on GREAT radio stations across America.
When Joe isn’t quizzing his friends and family on Duran Duran’s biggest hits, or Journey’s tour dates from back in the day, he and his wife Mary are parents of three grown kids, and he is an AVID softball player and baseball fan. (Don’t start quizzing him on baseball trivia either – he might slay you there too.)
So join OUR PROFESSOR of POP – Joe Cortese – and enjoy the songs you love from the ‘80s and ‘90s in a whole new light, on the Retro Pop Reunion!
