The Animation Show of Shows Film Festival at SUNY Orange
April 4 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The Animation Show of Shows, a short film festival, is being screened on Friday, April 4, 2025 at SUNY Orange in the Harriman Hall 111 Film Theatre. Starting at 7pm, the films will roll for approximately ninety minutes. These films have been selected from thousands created around the globe.
The animation film within the film industry is an in-depth genre. It is truly an art that both entertains as well as educates. The films are not kiddy cartoons. “Animation is a natural medium for dealing with abstract ideas and deeply felt concerns,” states Ron Diamond, founder and curator of this film festival.
Eleven beautifully crafted, unique films comprise the festival set. The techniques of these innovative films range from hand-drawn, paint on glass and stop-motion, to the latest computer-generated imagery. Together these films capture, in the words of Andrew Stanton, director of Finding Nemo, “all the wit, cleverness, integrity, warmth and humor that humanity is capable of,” and “have a universal appeal ideal for sharing with family and friends.”
A discussion will be led by New Media/Communications Professor Hanna Sawka, a filmmaker herself.
The following is the list of the eleven films plus the country/countries of origin:
The Story of Percival Pilts – Australia/New Zealand
Tant de Forets – France
Snowfall – Ireland
The Ballad of Holland Island House – USA
Behind the Trees -USA/Spain
