PBS Documentary Screening: The Warrior Tradition
This PBS Documentary will be screened at 1:00 pm on Saturday April 20, 2024, at the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor.
Native Americans have served in the American military throughout our history and have the highest per capita representation of any ethnic group. This hour-long documentary explores the complex nature of this relationship of Native Americans to the military. “The film chronicles the accounts of Native Americans from their own points of view – stories of service and pain, of courage and fear.” This program is being shown in conjunction with the Hall of Honor’s newest Rotating exhibit “Native American Purple Heart recipients” and features Sgt. Johancharles “Chuck” Boers, who is one of the profiled Native Americans in the new exhibit.
Admission is free. Please call 845-561-1765 for reservations.
