Monday – Friday 3:00pm to 7:00pm
From the small town of Owego, New York. I moved to the Hudson Valley in the fall of 2018 with my wife and our two children (now four), our dog, and cat. No dull moments at our home. We quickly fell in love with the beautiful sights and deep history of the Hudson Valley and decided to call Highland home.
My passion for radio goes back to my early childhood when you could find me playing radio with one of those “My First Sony” machines. I was a chip off the old block as my father worked in broadcasting. As far back as I could remember I thought it was the coolest thing to hear him anywhere I went, and I wanted to do nothing but that!
After spending much of my childhood playing radio (right down to building my own studio). By the year 2000…after my father had been off the air for a few years, he got back in the game at a hometown station known as 1330 WEBO. I started to follow him into the studio from time to time and quickly learned the ropes (my mother was not thrilled by this). Before I knew it, I was running a live broadcast from a marketplace in downtown Owego, New York after just turning 13.
There was no stopping me from there. I spent a few years behind the scenes doing what we call “board operating”, loading commercials, and pretty much anything I could do to be involved. By 16, I cracked the microphone on my own. I started doing weekends and fill-in at Top-40 WWYL in Binghamton, NY (Known at the time as Wild 104). From there I got my first weekday shift doing overnights for Adult Hits WLTB (Magic 101.7) in Binghamton, NY. But, since I just couldn’t get enough, I also added in some weekend shifts up in Utica at WLZW (Lite 98.7) in Utica, NY. Made the drive each weekend for several months.
By early 2007 came an opportunity to head a little further west to Elmira, NY where Top-40 WNKI (Wink 106) needed some weekend help at the time with a promise of full-time employment for the right person. I couldn’t resist and after just a few short months…They offered me the night show and I made my move there and also took on doing middays on the sister station at that time Country WPGI (100.9 The Big Pig). I spent a great chunk of time here, made lifelong friends, met my wife, rose to Afternoon Drive, and became the Assistant Program Director/Music Director of WNKI before calling it day.
But by 2014, right around the time my 2nd child was born. Life had other plans as an opportunity came up to head a little more north to Ithaca, NY where WQNY (103.7 Q Country) brought me on to do Afternoons and quickly gave me Assistant PD, MD, and Ops stripes.
From there, I landed in the Hudson Valley with iHeartRadio as I was offered the Afternoon Show and Program Director position for WRWD (Country 107.3) in 2018 just in time to meet everyone and say hello on stage at the Dutchess County Fair. That led to overseeing Top-40 WPKF (Kiss FM) & Classic Rock WBWZ (Z-93) before my departure.
After spending a few months on what we call the “radio beach” for the first time in my career. An opportunity came up to do some work close by in Sullivan County with 98.3 WSUL. I became the Director of Programming for the cluster of stations there and then got to check off the box of doing a Morning Show.
That takes me here, where outside of my other job of doing technical support for broadcast automation. I am happy to call WALL radio my new radio home each weekday afternoon from 3 to 7 pm.
