NEW CITY – Fire trucks and police cars paraded by Rita McCullough’s house in New City on Friday to help her celebrate her 107th birthday in style.
Rita sat on her front porch with family as members of the Clarkstown Police Department and New City Fire Department conducted drive-by birthday greetings.
She was joined by her daughter Gail, son Eddie, family, friends and neighbors.
Rita is the oldest and longest participating member of the Clarkstown Senior Club, New City II.
Town Supervisor George Hoehmann presented her with a proclamation declaring April 23, 2021 as Rita McCullough Day in Clarkstown. “We will be back next year,” he told her, as she sat socially distanced from her well-wishers, bouquet of flowers in her arms.
