Omicron variant represents 95 percent of viruses circulating statewide

ALBANY – Another 1,474 people in the Hudson Valley/Catskills region tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, the State Health Department said. There was one death, in Westchester County.

The Omicron variant now represents more than 95 percent of the viruses in circulation statewide.

Earlier this week, Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman noted that persons who test positive with at-home antigen rapid tests are not reflected in the state statistics.
