Advisory: Heritage Trail will be temporarily closed from Chester to Monroe
The section of the Heritage Trail between the Chester train station and Monroe Park and Ride will be closed on weekdays from Monday, June 19th until on or about Friday, June 30th for maintenance. The Heritage Trail will be accessible on weekends during that time. The Heritage Trail runs nearly 11 miles from Goshen to Monroe with about 150,000 people using it each year for running, biking, hiking and studying. It has access points in Monroe, Chester and Goshen with convenient parking and features historic landmarks, scenic views, a bird/wildlife sanctuary and access to dining and shopping in local villages. The Heritage Trail is the second-most used county park behind Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Hamptonburgh.
