FISHKILL – All elected officials in the Town of Fishkill must now file an annual disclosure statement pertaining to business positions, investments, interests in real property and related matters.
The law was introduced by Councilwoman Louise Danielle, who felt the town could do more to demonstrate transparency and give residents confidence in their local government.
The town board approved the amendment to the town ethics code at its September 6 session.
A disclosure form will now be drafted for the town board to approve.
The form will include employment history, involvement in public and private organizations, and other financial or business interests.
