WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
April 8 - April 12
Head Start of Eastern Orange County to celebrate WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Each day of the week, there is a new theme for the children to explore.
Our celebration begins the week of April 8th to April 12th, 2019 with our event times being 10:00 a.m. for our morning session & full day classrooms, and 2:00 p.m. for our afternoon session.
Our annual kick off will be on Monday celebrating with our Head Start colors, red and blue. We will also have guest speakers (TBD), and a special walk around the block. On Tuesday, we will have crazy hair or hat day, and a guest D.J. will entertain with a dance party for the children. She will get us moving and shaking as she spins the tunes, and each classroom performs and shares a song/dance. Wacky Wednesday is up next, with each classroom switching around for a new experience. Thursday will be our cultural day with some special surprises. The children will see new and exciting musical interpretations. Our week ends with a fun, pajama party for everyone! We invite our parents to join us in their p.j.’s for a family day.
If you have a child in our program, please look out for the flyers and reminders coming home. If you have a child between the ages of 3 and 5 and think you may qualify for Head Start, feel free to come by and see us in action!!
Our address is Head Start of Eastern Orange County, 49 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550. Feel free to call (845) 562-0380 if you have any questions.
