The Week of the Young Child
April 16 @ 10:00 am - April 20 @ 12:00 am
Head Start of Eastern Orange County to celebrate WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Each day of the week, there is a new theme for the children to explore.
Our celebration begins the week of April 16th to April 20th, 2018 with our event times being 10:00 a.m. for our morning session & full day classrooms, and 2:00 p.m. for our afternoon session.
Our annual kick off will be on Monday, with guest speakers (TBD), and a special walk around the block. On Tuesday, we will have wonderful experience with Fur, Fins, Feathers & More, that will tie into our Spring field trip to Hudson Highlands Nature Museum. Wednesday and Thursday will be our Dance Party with a special guest D.J. He will get us moving and shaking as he spins the tunes, and each classroom performs and shares a song/dance. Friday, brings out a “Superhero in me.” theme. Children will use their imaginations and come dressed as any Superhero of their choosing. We have seen “Super Reader”, “Super Sharer” and others, the limits are endless.
If you have a child in our program, please look out for the flyers and reminders coming home. If you have a child between the ages of 3 and 5 and think you may qualify for Head Start, feel free to come by and see us in action!!
