The 8th Annual Hudson Valley Plein Air Festival (HVPAF) is scheduled for October 9th to 14th, 2023, presented by Wallkill River Center for the Arts (WRCA) in Montgomery, NY, the event attracts artists from across the United States to the outdoor, week-long plein air painting festival.Keep watch for artists standing along scenic roadways or over-looks painting the beautiful fall vistas before them! Stop and chat with the artists and learn all about the challenges and pleasures of plein air painting. The breathtaking scenery of the Hudson Valley has been a joy for plein air artists and art collectors, dating back centuries. HVPAF is committed to the community’s participation in this event and has introduced a line-up of events for adults and children alike.Reception October 14th 2023 12pm – 3pmThe festival’s reception – free to the public – kicks off at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th at the Wallkill River Center for the Arts. The reception begins with a painting demonstration by our juror of awards. Following the one-hour demonstration, prizes will be awarded to the artists with the best plein air paintings completed during the festival week. In addition, the gallery will be open for viewing and sale of the paintings until 5 p.m.. Exhibition and sale of the festival paintings will continue on Sunday, October 15th through Sunday, November 5th, 2022. The Gallery is open 12-5 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
