Orange County to host ‘Crime Victims’ Vigil on April 25th
April 25 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus has announced that the 2023 Orange County Crime Victims’ Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25th at Erie Way Park, located at 1-31 Union Street in Middletown.
The vigil coincides with National Crime Victims’ Week, which runs from April 23-29. This year’s theme is “Survivor Voices: Elevate. Engage. Effect Change,” and emphasizes the need to amplify the voices of survivors and create environments where they have the confidence that they will be heard.”
“The Crime Victims’ Vigil is a night to remember victims of crime, and their families, and to acknowledge their journey for justice and shared hope of a better tomorrow,” Orange County Probation Director Tim Davidian said. “For law enforcement personnel and victim advocates, the Crime Victims’ Vigil is a recommitment of our continued support and dedication to all victims of crime.”
Those wishing to participate in the Crime Victims’ Vigil are advised that some content may not be appropriate for younger children. Crisis counselors will be available throughout the ceremony. Photographs of loved ones may be brought for display and a roll call of crime victims will be held during the ceremony.
