Monticello My Brother’s Keeper Local Action Summit
April 24 @ 3:45 pm - 7:45 pm
Monti-MBK would like to invite you to attend our Monticello My Brother’s Keeper Local Action Summit on April 24th from 3:45pm-7:45pm in the Monticello High School Cafeteria.
The purpose of this meeting will be to finalize our MBK Local Action Plan which will drive our efforts moving forward as a community. Dinner will be served at this event which is open to the entire community.
We will be joined by leaders throughout the community, including Mayor Gary Sommers, Regent/Judge Josephine Finn, Superintendent Tammy Mangus and New York State Education Department, including our keynote Dr. Don-Lee Applyrs, the NYSED Director of Family and Community Engagement.
Most importantly, we would like to encourage everyone to invite as many of our youth, parents, families, and community stakeholders as possible to join us as we strategize a plan to improve our community as it relates to our 6 MBK National Milestones:
1. Getting a healthy start and coming to school ready to learn
2. Reading on level by the 3rd grade
3. Graduating high school ready for college and career
4. Completing a post-secondary education or training
5. Successfully entering the workforce
6. Keeping kids on track and giving them second chances
THIS IS OUR LAST AND FINAL STEP TO MAKING MONTICELLO A REGISTERED MBK COMMUNITY; OPENING THE DOOR FOR FUTURE FUNDING AND A SUSTAINABLE COLLABORATION TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS!
Please help spread the word to everyone you know about this very important gathering. We look forward to seeing you all join us at this event!
