FREE ACTING AND VOICE TRAINING WORKSHOP 2/17/18
GOSHEN, NY – The Academy of Film Television Stage and Performing Arts (AFTSPA) is excited to announce its first 2018 Public Workshop for ‘Acting Anyone’ for those interested in a professional career and participation in projects currently in development by Willy-Gilly Productions, Inc.
The Academy’s “Acting Anyone Workshop” will include a complete representation of the work that The Academy does, as well as a ‘Hands On’ participation by the attendees seeking information about the Sanford Meisner Acting Technique.
There will also be an introduction for those who desire to learn about the vocal technique introduced by Seth Riggs known as “Speech Level Singing.” This method was used by Michael Jackson and is still being used by Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Tony Braxton, Michael Bolton and many ‘American Idol’ and ‘X-Factor’ contestants. It has been deemed as the healthiest way to study voice.
Master actor, singer, writer, director and teacher, David Patrick Wilson (a protégé of the late, great man himself), knows well the value of the incredible technique that he teaches. First and foremost, he is committed to working in productions with actors skilled in the ‘Meisner Method.’
The workshop is open to the general public and will take place on Saturday, February 17th at 3:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of the St. James Episcopal Church, 1 St. James Place, Goshen, NY. Registration is limited, so please reserve your place at your earliest convenience by calling 845.294.7500 or by registering on line at aftspa.org
