Dig Safely New York to Host Family-Friendly
Community Day Event for 811 Day
East Syracuse, N.Y. (July 29, 2019) – Dig Safely New York is
hosting a Community Day on 811 Day to commemorate the natural
calendar date, celebrate it’s 50-Year Anniversary and allow the community
to tour its new state-of-the-art building.
The event, hosted on Sunday, August 11th, will have presentations from
The Wild Animal Park and include vendors like the Syracuse Mets,
Skippy’s Ice Cream, Dewitt Police Department and more.
“Not only is the event free for families, but attendees will also get free
items from the vendors and Dig Safely New York,” Kevin Hopper,
Executive Director of Dig Safely New York, said. “Families can collect
raffle tickets at each vendor they visit. Attendees will be able to use these
raffle tickets to enter to win a prize of their choice, donated by regional
businesses like gift certificates to Turning Stone Casino and Resort and a
prize pack from Syracuse Crunch, to name a few.”
811 Day represents the individuals who call New York State home and the
families that build our communities. Dig Safely New York wants to provide
its community with a day of fun activities, but to also give members of the
community a tour of our new facility and see what we do to keep their
