Anti-Semitism training Part 2

Orange County Human Rights Commission to host anti-Semitism training seminars on September 22nd and October 8th
Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County’s Human Rights Commission has announced that it is partnering with the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County to offer a virtual series of learning and conversation called “Building Understanding: Anti-Semitism and Kiryas Joel.”

In this two-part series, community members are invited to join scholars and local experts to come together and learn about the history of Kiryas Joel and examine our role in uprooting anti-Semitism.

Session I
3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd: Professors David Myers and Naomi Stolzenberg, authors of the upcoming book “American Shtetl: Kiryas Joel Through the Lens of Jewish History and American Law.”

Session II
7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8th: Inaudy Esposito, Director of Orange County’s Human Rights Commission, and Rabbi Rachel Rubenstein, Director of the Jewish Federation, will lead a conversation on anti-Semitism in our community.

“This virtual discussion is an opportunity to learn more about anti-Semitism, learn about our Satmar neighbors, and discuss ways to come together and fight hatred in our community,” Esposito said.
